Athens Sexual Violence Prevention Coalition

The Athens Sexual Violence Prevention Coalition (Athens SVPC) is dedicated to improving the community climate regarding domestic and sexual violence through social justice initiatives focused on primary prevention strategies: including

  • education and awareness,
  • policy and legislation, and
  • outreach and programming. 

Athens SVPC is comprised of representatives from Tri-County Mental Health and Counseling's Sexual Assault Prevention Program, The Campus Involvement Center of Ohio University, The Church of the Good Shepherd, Ohio University's Women's Center, Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Ohio, Counseling and Psychological Services at Ohio University, Athens Area Mediation Services, The Athens County Child Advocacy Center, Athens County Board of Commissioners, Athens County Victim's Assistance, Health Recovery Services and other stakeholders such as students, parents and community leaders.
