Teen Dating Violence Prevention Discussion

Wednesday, February 3, 2010 - 11:30 - 13:00

February 1st-6th marks the nationally recognized Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention week. To mark this week as well as to acknowledge the Tina Croucher Act (a bill mandating teen dating violence prevention education in Ohio schools), Tri-County Mental Health and Counseling’s Sexual Assault Prevention Program is hosting a discussion on the prevention of teen dating violence at the Athens Public Library on Wednesday February 3rd from 11:30am-1pm.

Engage in meaningful conversation with other concerned professionals, parents and community leaders about an issue that affects 1 in 3 teenagers and can result in serious educational, physical, psychological and societal difficulties. The elimination of teen dating violence requires the cooperation of individuals, organizations and communities. Have a voice in what prevention of dating violence and promotion of healthy relationships looks like in our community. Join us on Wednesday February 3rd, 11:30am at the Athens Public Library. Light refreshments will be provided.

Tri-County Mental Health and Counseling brings this event to you in cooperation with the Athens Sexual Violence Prevention Coalition, Ohio University’s Sexual Assault Prevention Club and the Athens Public Library.
