A new low...

In an article in our local Athens News it appears that defense attorneys for a man charged with rape want "to be allowed to set up, in front of a jury, the bed in which the rape allegedly took place, and then to require the alleged victim to physically demonstrate how her body was situated when she claims the assault occurred."

What!? I can not even begin to describe what an inane request this and can not believe the Judge did not automatically deny it. According to the article there was "some question as to whether he would allow this." Some question!? Let us start with the fact that is not the victim on trial. Then let us think about a rape and the trauma it can cause. Why on earth would anyone think it would be okay to have a victim act out her rape? I could go on, but am just too angry and disgusted right now...

Thankfully you can go to http://thecurvature.com/2009/08/24/defense-attorneys-want-victim-to-act-out-alleged-rape-in-court/#more-6210 and read a better commentary on this
